"Our mission at Peapod is to save our customers time and money - and for many busy families, especially moms, who are always on the go, a quick stop at our pick-up location on the way home is the most convenient option," said Andrew Parkinson, Peapod president. "Peapod Pick-Up is fast and easy. Peapod associates greet you at your car, collect your coupons and load your groceries into your vehicle for you - all within five minutes. There’s no need for you to even get out of your car," said Parkinson.
Peapod shoppers can create personal lists, read nutrition information online, sort products rapidly by price or by nutrition criteria and take advantage of thousands of weekly specials. Giant customers can even shop from a list of items they have bought at their local store simply by entering their Giant card number online. They can also earn Giant Gas Rewards on their Peapod Pick-Up orders.
"Giant was one of the first supermarket chains in the nation to offer grocery delivery in 2000 through our sister company, Peapod," said Anthony Hucker, president, Giant Landover of Landover, Md. "Peapod Pick-up is a great complement to the delivery service and allows us to leverage our convenient store locations to provide another online shopping option for our customers. This is just another way Giant is living up to our promise to be a better place to shop, and we look forward to expanding to additional locations in the coming year."
