Giant Food Donates Lunches to Inauguration Day Officers in Appreciation

Landover, Md. (January 21, 2013) - Giant Food of Landover, Md. is proud to support the Metropolitan Police Department, U.S. Park Police, and National Park Service by providing boxed lunches and water for the 5,000 officers and rangers securing the safety of the 57th Presidential Inauguration.

Giant Food has donated 5,000 boxed lunches and bottled water in appreciation of the men and women who play a critical role in Inauguration Day activities across Washington. Continuing the tradition of giving back and supporting the community, Giant has also provided 15,000 bottles of water for Inaugural Parade participants. Participants include representatives selected by the Presidential Inaugural Committee from each of the five branches of the Armed Services and all 50 states and feature a variety of marching bands, groups, and floats.

As the nation's capital grocer, it's always been a priority for us to give back to the communities we're so privileged to serve.
